Winemaking Experts of Bordeaux Since 1949
Born out of a cooperative winemaking movement in France, Producta Vignobles is a collective of over 2,500 winegrowers who create wine from 50 appellations in the Bordeaux region, with industry-leading expertise in winemaking for over 60 years.
Producta Vignobles spans four great terroirs around Bordeaux: central Bordeaux, Bergerac, Saint-Émilion, and Medoc. The vineyards cover 24,000 hectares of wine grapes and include 150 exclusive châteaux. Producta Vignobles controls the creation, blending, testing, winemaking, ageing, and packaging of the wine, allowing the winemakers to develop quality wines that express the terroir of each appellation.
Creating Wines True to the Region
Producta Vignobles produces over 20 million bottles of wine a year, with each stage of the winemaking process managed by a team of experienced experts. It begins with careful growth and cultivation of the vines throughout the year. Then, grapes are vinified according to their character and region under the management of cellar masters. Wines are bottled within each terroir to avoid extra traveling. Finally, blind tastings ensure the taste of the wine corresponds perfectly to what is promised by the grape variety and appellation.
With a range of signature châteaux and carefully made wines from different terroirs, Producta Vignobles produces high-quality bottles that please many palates and regularly receive awards and critical acclaim.
The waterfront port of Chartrons was the main trading post for Bordeaux wine throughout history, and its wine merchants spread the fame of Bordeaux wines around the world. Today, this label acts as an ambassador for the quality of Bordeaux wines, with classic medal-winners such as Les Chartrons Bordeaux Rouge, a clean and fruity red with pronounced cherry, spice, and herb notes; and Les Chartrons Bordeaux Supérieur, a refined, indulgent blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon.
This label is named for a legendary Bordeaux personality, Xavier Arnozan (1852–1928), one of the most influential men in the history of Bordeaux. He was a distinguished doctor, assistant mayor, and was also awarded the Légion d’Honneur. Several award-winning bottles carry his name, including Arnozan Bordeaux Supérieur, a full-bodied, tannic wine with balanced fruit and oak notes; as well as Arnozan Bordeaux Blanc, a zesty white wine with layers of citrus, grass, and gooseberry.
Duc de Castellac
The château on the label of these wines once belonged to a rich trading family and is said to have been visited by Louis XIII. Hailing from the Bergerac region, these wines are appreciated throughout the world as enjoyable, modern wines that are lightly oaked and have fruit-driven notes. Award-winning Duc De Castellac Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot is a graceful sample, displaying soft, elegant, and fruity notes.
At Home in Bordeaux, France
As one of the most famous wine regions in the world, and the largest appellation region in France, Bordeaux is known for many prestigious names in wine and the production of high-quality bottles.
Located near the ocean, Bordeaux experiences a moderate maritime climate that benefits from the warming effect of the Gulf Stream, which moderates temperatures and allows grapes to ripen fully. The region is known for rich, diverse, and high-quality wines thanks to its unique terroirs and artful blending of grapes. Most wines are produced from a blend: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot for red wines; and Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, and Muscadelle for white wines. By blending these great grape varieties, winemakers can create subtle, balanced, and harmonious wines.
Bordeaux is crossed by two rivers — the Garonne and Dordogne — which divide the area into geographical regions. On the “Left Bank” lie Médoc and Graves, where the gravelly soils are perfect for growing Cabernet Sauvignon. On the “Right Bank” lie the regions of Saint-Emilion and Pomerol, where red clay soils produce bold and plummy Merlot. Farther along the right side is Bergerac, which also has clay-based soils that produce similar wines to the Right Bank.
